Looks great.I would add mulch to suppress weeds and grass from coming back. Also, it helps keep the tree hydrated.I rigged up a stranded cable years ago to do the same thing. My neighbors must have thought I was wacko...but I have perfect circles. Because I have two trees in a row, it allowed me to lock the length in place so both matched.The yard looks fantastic! I agree- my fav tool is always a pitch fork.
