I soak the bottom half overnight where the split ends then glue and clamp lets the wood fibers compact easier then as it dries fibers are relaxed to new stresses.You could see it splitting straight after it's wood glue.Could see it come back apart again lol there's a way to fix it but it's not this.If you dont wanna get another piece of wood, you are better completing the split then gluing it back, because it will still keep the pressure after the glue.
